What is the Particular Baptist Revival? This website exists because the current state of American Christianity is indeed dire and alarming. On one side, we witness the rise of progressive “Christianity,” which often strays from the core tenets of the faith, embracing ideologies that can dilute or distort the essence of the Gospel. On the other hand, there is the encroachment of Romish Popery, which threatens to overtake the very heart of this once proudly Protestant nation, leading many away from the foundational truths that have historically defined our faith. It is in this context of spiritual confusion and compromise that we seek to establish a beacon of light and truth. Therefore, with clarity, precision, and unwavering faithfulness, this website, along with its accompanying social media platforms, is dedicated to bringing the robust and life-giving Gospel teaching found in the Particular or Reformed Baptist tradition back to the forefront of the American theological consciousness. We aim to create a space where sound doctrine can flourish and where believers can find nourishment for their souls. This will be accomplished by posting regularly on the 1689 Second London Baptist Confession, a crucial document that outlines the beliefs and practices of Particular Baptists, along with publishing sermons, writings, and works from both contemporary and historical Particular Baptists who have faithfully proclaimed the truth of Scripture throughout the ages. The ultimate goal of this website is to preach Christ and Him Crucified to all who will listen. We seek to exalt the Savior above all else, proclaiming His work of redemption and the necessity of faith in Him for salvation. This will be done within a classically Reformed view of soteriology, which emphasizes the sovereignty of God in salvation, the total depravity of man, and the irresistible grace that draws sinners to Christ. Additionally, we will uphold a Baptist understanding of the ordinance of baptism, recognizing it as a vital expression of faith and obedience to the commands of our Lord, and we will approach these discussions with a prayerful and humble submission to the Lord and His inerrant word found in the Holy Bible. While this site will primarily cater to those who find their spiritual home within the Particular or Reformed Baptist tradition, it is also my earnest prayer that other Protestants may find the work done on this site edifying and thought-provoking. We desire to foster unity among believers who hold to the essentials of the faith, even if they come from different backgrounds.
